One of the nice things about
Outlook Express, is that you can have as many different mailboxes
(accounts) as you wish. Everything is checked with one click
of
the send and receive icon. If you have a lot
of different e-mail address, even on other servers, this is the best mail
system to use. Also the e-mail program is separate from the IE 4.0
Internet Explorer so you can check your e-mail without having to
go through your internet browser.
| Step 1: Getting
Started
Start by opening Outlook Express
by clicking on the Outlook Icon.
Once you enter Outlook you will be presented with
a setup wizard if it
is your first time on. The instructions are
easy to follow, just replace
the information with the information given to you
by your ISP.
If it is not your first time
then you will need to do several steps to
set your e-mail accounts up. It is a very easy
program to install and
setup. Just follow the example given on each page
of the wizard or
go to Step 5 to go through
each step. These are the very same steps that
the wizard uses, or the steps used to add a second
or third e-mail address.

Step 2:
Tools
and Accounts

After opening "Outlook Express"
click on the "Tools" selection at the top
of the page.
This will open a drop down screen. Select the "Accounts"
tab.

Step 3:
Internet
Account Information
The below screen will open. Click on the
""Mail Tab" Then click
on the
"Properties Button".

| Step 4:
Add
Mail Account
This screen will open. click on the "Add" Button and
then the Mail option.

Step 5:
Enter
the name that you wish to appear in front of your
e-mail address This usually is your Proper name.

Step 6:
Now
enter your e-mail address as given to you by your ISP.
Most of the time this will be your "Username @ ISP Domain. |

Step 7:
Insure that you see "POP3" in the Mail server Block.
Your Incoming mail (POP3) server and
Your Outgoing mail (STMP) server are both the same.
Place mail.pyramid3.net in both of the remaining blocks.

Step 8: Now
put in your Username and username only in the
POP Account Name Block
Enter your password but do not check the log on using
Secure Password Authentication.

Step 9: Now
choose a friendly name that you would like to name.
This can be what ever you wish it to be.

Step 10: How
to choose your connection
"Connect using my phone line"

| Step 11: Click
"Use
an existing dial-up connection"

Step 12: Great,
you are now through configuring your Outlook Express."
If you wish to add a second e-mail account, just redo the
steps above for the new account.

| To select options go to "TOOLS"
then click "Option".

This will open a page with
seven tabs, the first being "General"
We recommend that you select all but the one that
is indented.
You may if you like, change your check e-mail to 10
minutes.

Click the "SEND " tab
and select each box as
shown below.

| Click the "READ"
Tab and select as shown.

If you wish the Outlook Express to check spelling
before you send an e-mail, click the Two general
options, the others are optional.

The Last Tab is the "Dial Up" Tab. Insure that
you check these as marked. Then click on "APPLY"
then "OK". Your mail browser is now configured
and
you may start sending and receiving e-mail by clicking
on the send and receive Icon.
