So just what is E-mail and how does it work?
E-mail, as you most likely know , is the electronic messaging service of office intranets and the Internet. Whenever you send a friend via email, that message travels from your machine , over the internet itself until it arrives at your friend's machine, or to a special electronic post office on a machine the he or she can access. The message is then kept there until your friend retrieves it.So how does the Internet know how to get a piece of e-mail from your machine to that of your friend's e-mail post office account? It works almost like the old fashion snail mail. You have given it all the necessary delivery information, contained in your your e-mail address for it to reach him or her.
When you address a piece of e-mail, it is ESSENTIAL that you get the address right. Remember there is no friendly postman to figure out that you really meant that for the house down the block and not your next door neighbor. Every Character counts. If there is a mistake in the address you enter - even one wrong letter - the mail will simply be returned to you as "undeliverable".
Below You will find the most popular mail systems on the market today. Just click on the mail system you use or your browser uses and follow the directions.
